FITC Academy is a selection only programme for players from U9-U18.
We have a network of scouts that are regularly watching grassroots matches to see if there are any players that we believe have the ability to get into a professional academy.
When a player is invited in, they go onto a six-week trial. This is where the academy director and academy coaches assess the player on their natural ability, potential ability, attitude, dedication and commitment. This is all completely free, there is no charge for this.
If the academy director believes the player has the potential to make it to a professional academy, they will get offered a place to join FITC Academy.
When a player comes into the academy, our sole aim is to develop the player to the level that is needed to get them to a professional academy and then move them on.
FITC Academy is run the same way as a professional academy. As you can see from the links below, we have a philosophy of how we want all our age groups to play and our syllabus is very detailed and specific to that philosophy. Please take the time to read up on how we play, our expectations and what our syllabus consists of.
Our players train 2/3 times per week at Braintree Leisure Centre.
Our players have 3 parent’s evenings per season, so we can make sure we are in regular and specific communication with every player and their parents.
FITC Academy works with 16 professional clubs all over England and a further 4 abroad. The teams we work with range from Manchester City to Ipswich Town to Valencia CF.
Our teams play regular matches against the professional clubs, which is another way we help expose our players to the professional academies. Currently (as of November 2020) we have sent 162 players to professional clubs.
